I've posted recently ideas you could implement at the end of a week to keep your BD pipeline fresh. Here's some tips to kick off the week on the right note. The actions to set things going should take no more than 10 minutes.
- Have you booked NEXT week's BD-focused meeting? You need to keep one eye on the horizon to ensure you get flow in your BD activities. An easy way to keep this momentum if you've forgotten to book something - ask yourself...who do I need to get back onto to follow something up?
- Set up a coffee with someone INTERNALLY this week from another department. Ask them what is the most interesting thing they've been working on.
- Then ask your internal contact what their IDEAL REFERRAL would look like? Is it a corporate, a private company? What size would it be? What would be the job title of the person they'd like an introduction to? How would I describe the type of problems you solve to that person so they take the meeting?
- Look at your LinkedIn profile this week. Does it say what type of problems you solve? Does it reference the types of clients you LOVE to work with? Tinker with it to make it better.
- Review your LinkedIn contacts list. Is there anyone whose name JUMPS OUT that you haven't seen for a while? Quickly...call that one person and say hi...today!
